The EPIC is MadHouse’s first hubstack yo-yo, released February 2011 at $118, designed by Rick Kroytz and Nick Pelham. Its defining innovation is the “TA-Ta” system — named for “Trajectory, Assimilation” — a large, cap-style hubstack that simplifies hubstack-based tricks and allows a single hand to simultaneously catch both stacks. The larger stack size makes grabs far more accessible than standard hubstack designs of the period. Slim response pads keep the gap clean for unresponsive play while the hubstacks open a secondary layer of technical tricks.
