The M was mowl’s first yo-yo, released in June 2016 and conceived as a high-end proof-of-concept for the brand’s design philosophy. Produced by World Champion Eiji Okuyama, the M features a rounded H-shape profile that incorporates elements of both Butterfly and straight-shaped yo-yos — feeling like a Butterfly during sleep but straight and powerful during play. Eye-popping laser-engraved artwork reminiscent of street art made mowl an instant hot topic in the scene when high-quality player videos dropped alongside it. Development started in December 2014 with designers Dee (Shimizu Daiki) and 44nollie (Kawamura Yoshinori). The design goal was a yo-yo that still felt great five years after release — with particular emphasis on the slow, flowing feel without sacrificing spin power or stability. A minor update to the M was released on mowl’s 6th anniversary in June 2022.
