The Lucha Libre was the final release for Throw Down. According to team members, the prototypes had a number of concerns. There was a thick axle that was screwed directly into the Delrin and the bearing sat on the Delrin. There were changes to the production version, a spiked hex nut, a different bearing seat, but these changes were never tested by the team. Due to an error at the machine shop, the production run’s bearing seat was machined too thin. This caused the Lucha Libre to break, sometimes just by returning to the hand. 80 yoyos were released in white or dyed colors. Most Lucha Libre’s became unplayable shortly after playing for the first time. Throw Down never recovered from this and shut down.
