The Sonic Space yo-yo combined eight different electronic sounds with several multicolored LED lights, all activated when the player threw a sleeper. The Yo-Yo Museum records a metal axle and starburst response, dated 1995, and notes that by the mid to late 1990s Imperial yo-yos were considered novelty items. Original retail price was $3 US. Imperial Toy Corporation was founded in April 1969 by Fred Kort, and its yo-yos often carry a detailed imperial crown mark.
