About The Ruler
The Ruler is Hollywood Modern Yoyos’ / ilinx’s most experimental release to date, debuted at US Nationals 2025. At twelve inches (one foot) in width with a 3.52-inch diameter, it is widely recognized as the widest yoyo ever made and stretches the definition of what a yoyo can be. The unusual proportions produce a slow, powerful spin driven by extreme rotational inertia from the rim mass distribution.
Despite its scale, The Ruler is a functional unresponsive yoyo. It was refined through multiple prototypes to reduce vibration, and the final version features upgraded metal bearing seats drawn from the Drop 2 3D engineering work. Ross Levine introduced it publicly at US Nationals 2025 as a statement piece and conversation starter about the outer boundaries of yoyo design.
