The Pyro is one of the most iconic metal yo-yos ever produced and a defining moment in HSpin’s history. It was the first yo-yo in history to feature laser engravings on the profile — the outer rim face, not the flat side. The matte anodized fire-red finish with flame engravings became immediately recognizable. Its radical 45.5mm width and 71.7g weight were unlike anything on the market; some described throwing it like “an unopened soda can.” The matte surface excelled for grinds. A new axle system with very tight threads produced remarkable smoothness. Multiple production runs followed the December 2005 debut, with 2008 variants featuring updated response grooves. The Pyro’s weight and width later prompted HSpin to develop the Pyro Light as a slimmer variant.
