According to Hesh Enterprises, the Honeypot is the second Hesh Enterprises yo-yo and is intended as a reimagining of the Petri, made smaller, wider and with more rounded edges to be less challenging and more comfortable to play. Brendan McGinnis designed it in January 2020 while working as a machinist, slightly modified the design in 2024, and had it machined by One Drop Yo-yos in Eugene, Oregon. It measures 54.5 mm in diameter and 38.6 mm wide and weighs 65 g.
