Viper Folio 2296

History

The Viper is Henrys’ flagship yo-yo and one of the earliest purpose-built for offstring (4A) play. Introduced in 1998, it featured aluminum hubs with large removable rubber shells that allow the yo-yo to bounce safely when dropped — a critical design element for offstring freestyle. The original version used a Quicktrick gap adjustment system that rotated the halves to widen or narrow the string gap. A revised version released in summer 1999 added compatibility with the new AXYS modular axle system, allowing swappable fixed, transaxle, and ball bearing axle configurations. The rubber shells were also compatible with the American Playmaxx/ProYo Mongoose.

The AXYS-compatible version features an anodized aluminum hub with removable rubber shells and a Size D Speed Explosion ball bearing. Available in Black, Blue, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple, Sky Blue, Glow, and Ice colorways. Still in production as of 2025.
