The Forte is MonkeyfingeR Design’s signature model for Mike Montgomery, Idaho State Yoyo Champion. The name references the musical term forte (strong, loud), reflecting Montgomery’s powerful, precise 1A style. The narrow V-shape with a distinctive stair-step inner rim was unusual for its era — the ~36mm width pushed well below the competition norm — while the slim profile was engineered for Montgomery’s smooth, flowy, intricate trick sequences.
