The First Base has served as the canvas for numerous artist collaborations, team editions, and special colorways throughout Recess’s history. The most notable named collaboration is the “First Bass by Jake Bullock” (2024, $25), which gave the longtime Recess collaborator his own edition of the beginner plastic. Tyler Severance’s connection to Jake Bullock (Tyler introduced Jake to factory contact CJ Atkinson) makes this collaboration a full-circle moment in the Recess story. The First Base continues to receive new colorways and editions regularly.
