History / About
The Yo-Yo Museum describes this blue Zapper with a white stripe as the first Zapper, with larger and smaller versions made later. It is a one-piece wooden yo-yo about 2 inches in diameter, made in Sweden by the Elfverson company (a Sweden mark is impressed on the back), dated 1970 in the museum catalog. Festival Toys was a division of Union Wadding Company of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, according to the Yo-Yo Museum, and was associated with Wilf Schlee Jr., owner of Cheerio and Hi-Ker.
