History / About
The Walt Disney Orange Bird yo-yo, known as the Sunshine Yo-Yo, was a promotional yo-yo featuring the Orange Bird, a character created by Disney with the Florida Citrus Commission. The Yo-Yo Museum dates it to about 1971-1973 and says it was made by Union Wadding Company, known as Festival Toys. It came in a tournament-style shape with a Have a nice day sticker and a butterfly shape with a Be happy…smile sticker; other sticker phrases exist. The reverse is hot stamped with a Walt Disney Productions credit. No confirmed original price was found.
