Released in 2011 as the second De-Luxxe series metal, the Echo followed the Raptor with a fuller, full-sized profile. Its defining feature is a set of machined grooves along the catch zone that reduce string friction by approximately 50% during grind tricks — a feature Duncan marketed heavily as the “grind machine” aspect of the De-Luxxe line. The Echo’s rounded H-shape and 56 mm diameter placed it firmly in the full-sized category, and at 67.9 g it provided a weighty, stable platform for learning unresponsive play. It was succeeded by the Echo 2 in 2014.
