The Weekender is an ultralight modern-responsive aluminum yo-yo manufactured by One Drop Design (Eugene, Oregon). The design originated during a challenge Doc Pop set for himself: design a complete yo-yo from scratch in 48 hours while visiting One Drop’s machine shop — hence the name “The Weekender.”
The initial design was later updated to add fingerspin cups to the inner bowl. A Kickstarter campaign ran in March 2019, closing in June 2019 with 120 backers raising $9,680. Special Patreon-exclusive “Fingerspin Fades” colorways (Pink/Grey and Brown/Grey) were offered as early-access editions.
