The original Bolt was Doctor Popular’s signature yo-yo produced by YoYoJam, sold for approximately five years beginning around 2001. Doc Pop specifically chose dual O-ring response over the standard YoYoJam starburst response when reviewing the prototype. The Bolt became notable in the early modding community — Doc Pop published online instructions encouraging players to modify their units. The modern BoltXP (2022) is a spiritual successor to this model, recreating the same shape with updated specs.
