History
The Dif-Fly was Frank Difeo’s first production player yo-yo and the model that established Dif-e-Yo as a serious brand in the mid-2000s performance market. Evolving directly from the Daizzy-Fly, it introduced a slimline flat-rimmed butterfly profile with removable rubber rim weight rings — a system that would define the entire Dif-e-Yo lineup for years to come.
The Dif-Fly went through several distinct generations: the original ran a friction disc and Frank’s grooved bearing precursor; a later revision swapped to the patented KonKave bearing; and a final flush-pad variant was designated the Dif-Fly-F. In 2022, Frank released the Rev-1 Dif-Fly as a 20th anniversary upgrade.
