History
Dell Plastics Co. of Brooklyn, New York, known for plastic toy soldiers and flowers, entered the yo-yo market in the early 1960s with the Big D line, packaged in blister cards with a 1961 copyright. Per YoYo Wiki, Dell and Royal were sued by Duncan over the word yo-yo, which appeared on Dell’s packaging but not on the yo-yos; Dell dropped the line rather than litigate. The Trickster No. 601 has red outer shells with inner white discs and a gold-stamped seal. Early cards show 49 cents with a 1961 copyright; a 59 cent version followed around 1963.
