History
Dell Plastics Co. of Brooklyn, New York, known for plastic toy soldiers and flowers, entered the yo-yo market in the early 1960s with the Big D line, packaged in blister cards with a 1961 copyright. Per YoYo Wiki, Dell and Royal were sued by Duncan over the word yo-yo, which appeared on Dell’s packaging but not on the yo-yos; Dell dropped the line rather than litigate. The Returner No. 600 retailed from 29 cents. A glued-blister card is dated about 1964-1965; earlier stapled blister cards date to about 1961-1963. Later versions use a metallic sticker rather than a hot stamp.
