Daizzy-Yo

Folio 1272

History

The Daizzy-Yo was Frank P. Difeo’s very first yo-yo product, released in January 2002 as a pure collector piece. Machined from billet aluminum with a stainless steel axle, only 55 serial-numbered units were produced. Frank never intended it as a player — it was a proof of concept and a statement of machining capability.

The Daizzy-Yo introduced Frank’s grooved bearing concept: a ball bearing with a single string-centering groove machined into the inner race. This was the direct precursor to the patented KonKave bearing that would define Dif-e-Yo’s legacy. The model established the 2 1/8″ (54mm) standard diameter that Frank would use for nearly his entire lineup.
