History
The MAG Predator is the second Series 2 MAG model, released alongside the Avenger in 1999. Like the Avenger, it relies on a narrow tapered gap for response and does not have Performance Ring brake pads — the YoYo Museum explicitly notes “Does not have ‘performance rings’ (brake pads) like the later models.” It features a “sleek and narrow shape good for all kinds of looping tricks” per retailer descriptions.
A serial-numbered black “Predator Special” limited edition was released at the end of the production run, matching the Cyko Special in serial number (both share the same number on matched sets). Custom Products allegedly produced 200 units of each Special, though the true run may have been larger. Retail: $50 standard; $75 for serial-numbered vintage units.
