About the Warhawk P40
Named for the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk WWII fighter, the Warhawk P40 is Circle City YoYos’ fourth release and their most technically ambitious design. It uses 7068 aluminum — a harder, stronger alloy than either 6061 or standard 7075 — paired with stainless steel rings for enhanced rim-weighting and extended spin time. The response is hand-poured flowable silicone, giving each unit individual character.
The package is unusually comprehensive: in addition to the yo-yo itself, each P40 includes two additional Size D bearings, .1mm and .2mm shims for gap tuning, a tube of extra flowable silicone, Bad Wolfe Co custom strings, and a custom Throwbags pouch. A YoYoSam-exclusive “Scrap Metal” colorway was released as a retail limited edition. Reviewers were highly positive; the Casual Throw review called it “tough to speak too highly of” and named it one of the best yo-yos of 2020.
