The Butterfly XT is Duncan’s “extreme” evolution of the classic Butterfly, adding a Size C ball-bearing axle that delivers approximately ten times the spin time of the original fixed-axle version. Released in 2012, it retains the iconic wide wing shape but adds a take-apart design for easy knot removal and upgrades the response to a modern starburst. It bridges the gap between the beginner Butterfly and a dedicated unresponsive throw, and has become one of the most recommended first upgrades in the hobby, frequently appearing in Duncan’s school-program kits.
