About the BRICC
The BRICC is a collaboration between At Design Lab (Tokyo) and A-RT — Alternate Return Tops (Canada), the brand founded by Steve Brown. The design deliberately inverts the construction logic of 2000s competition yo-yos: rather than a plastic body with metal weight rings, the BRICC uses an aluminum center hub with POM (polyoxymethylene) plastic outer wings. A-RT contributed original Diptych face design drawings; At Design Lab handled overall balance and refinement. The collaboration is described as “an exchange of sketches and silent trust,” emphasizing feeling over function.
First drop sold out on release; a final drop ran November 21–22, 2025. A-RT is not currently in The Yoyo Archive. Colorways: Red, Blue, with limited coating samples. Vintage Coating finish.
