BassBoost was an early Double-Take Industries metal yo-yo designed and manufactured by Mike Montgomery. It was publicly documented in May 2010 and reached retail production after several design revisions. The name and cup-inspired form referenced a pair of subwoofers.
The best-documented final revision, commonly called BassBoost V2, reduced weight and removed an inner-rim-grind lip to address vibration seen in earlier prototypes. It used Double-Take Industries’ square O-ring “Onion Ring” response. Exact production dimensions, alloy, bearing, axle, colorways, and launch price have not been recovered.
