The Hyper Comet is the launch product of the third Hyper Yo-Yo series, released in 2010, and is described as “the first yo-yo released in the 2010s incarnation of the Hyper Yo-Yo range.” It is Bandai’s adaptation of the YoYoFactory FireDog — a simple, non-disassembling beginner model with a nylon spool axle that provides longer sleep times than a fixed-axle design. Before its official release, it debuted as the Hyper Comet Type-0, distributed exclusively at the 2010 World Hobby Fair. The body is a rounded-modified shape, cannot be disassembled, and requires no maintenance beyond string changes. Packaged with blue string and a trick/maintenance booklet.
