The YoYo Wiki calls the Yo-Matic Black Mamba Abbe Toys’ most well-known product. It uses a centrifugal cam rather than a clutch and was made in a 3-star version with an acetal transaxle sleeve and a 5-star version with a ball bearing. It was imported into the U.S. by several distributors during the late 1990s boom.
The Yo-Yo Museum records the 3-star as a 1998 model with a plastic transaxle and an original retail price of US$7. A PhatYo version released in the early 2000s replaced starbursts with cookie response pads.
