The 2018 World Yo-Yo Contest was held in Shanghai, China from August 9 to 12. As the premier event sanctioned by the International Yo-Yo Federation (IYYF), the contest attracted 528 competitors from 27 countries and territories. Evan Nagao secured his first World Champion title in the 1A division, while Japan continued to dominate the multi-yo-yo divisions. Most notably, Hajime Miura achieved an unprecedented victory by winning both the 3A and 4A World Titles in the same year.
