The 2017 World Yo-Yo Contest was held from August 10 to 12 at the Harpa Conference Center in Reykjavík, Iceland. Sanctioned by the International Yo-Yo Federation (IYYF), the contest brought the global yo-yo community together to compete for the most prestigious titles in the sport. Shion Araya claimed the highly coveted 1A World Champion title, while Japanese players dominated the other championship divisions, with Shu Takada winning 2A, Hajime Miura taking 3A, Rei Iwakura winning 4A, and Takuma Inoue securing the 5A title.
