About the East Japan Yo-Yo Contest (EJ-1) 2025

The East Japan Yo-Yo Contest 2025 Block-1 (EJ-1) was held on March 15, 2025 at Seimei Education and Culture Hall in Higashikurume, Tokyo, presented by Cloud Native Inc. and organized by the Japan Yo-Yo Federation (JYYF). The event served as the first of two Kanto regional qualifier blocks for the 2025 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest, which was held in Yokohama in June. Seven divisions were contested including the standard freestyle categories and a B Division open to beginners and intermediate players. Ryo Igarashi took the 1A title with a score of 93.8, while South Korean competitor Lee Jaehyuk claimed 2nd in 2A — a notable international showing at a domestic regional event. Takato Sasaki won 3A, Tsubasa Takada took 4A honors, and Akira Nishiguchi topped the 5A field.
