BC Yoyo
BC Yoyo is a line of premium hardwood fixed-axle yo-yos manufactured by What’s Next Mfg., Inc., founded in 1995 by Brad Countryman in Arcade, New York. The BC name derives from Brad Countryman’s initials.
The company traces its roots to 1980, when Countryman began crafting yo-yos from surplus furniture wood at his Country Wood Shop. After drawing major retailer interest at the 1981 New York Toy Fair, the business grew through Hummingbird Toy Co. in the late 1980s before relaunching as What’s Next in 1995 exclusively for yo-yo production. At its peak, the company manufactured 12,000 yo-yos per day and was recognized as the world’s largest producer of fixed-axle wooden yo-yos and aluminum ball-bearing yo-yos. What’s Next also produced the Tom Kuhn line of aluminum ball-bearing yo-yos. All BC yo-yos are made in the USA from hard maple.
