History / About
Papa Jim’s yo-yos were handmade wooden models, slightly oversized, with large axles and good balance. The Yo-Yo Museum says the Imperial models were available in maple, oak and mahogany (the exhibit is mahogany), made in Colden, New York, and calls it a very short-lived brand. The Museum exhibit is dated 2002 and was collected in August 2003. YoYo Wiki says Papa Jim’s was founded by Jim Hilburger, who toured schools demonstrating the manufacturing process, and that the yo-yos were made in both butterfly and classic shapes.
