Da Bomb A-Line

Da Bomb A-Line Folio 3972

History / About

The Yo-Yo Museum describes the A-Line Da Bomb as virtually identical to the standard model but made from polycarbonate, heavier, with domed side disks and “speed string”. It uses a teflon-sealed ABEC-3 bearing, came with two weight rings and an optional wooden axle, and has an adjustable gap. The museum records a weight of about 56-58 g without rings and a 1999 retail price of US$19.

Steve Brown says his insistence on stronger plastic led to the A-Line. Vintagelosi.com notes the A-Line series came in harder plastics to reduce wear and included Power Rings and a wooden axle. Colors include green, blue and pearl, plus a rare black (the museum states one black per 250 standard A-Lines).
