Free2Throw is a company founded by Tony Saffioti with a goal of creating unique and affordable yo-yos for all levels of play. The LiV was its first design. According to YoYoExpert, the team took inspiration from the childhood favorite television show Power Rangers: the LiV is named after the Power Rangers’ ally Alpha 5, and the dimple inside the cup was designed to match the dimple on the robot’s head. It is a lightweight bi-metal with an organic profile, available with stainless steel rings (56.4 g) or brass rings (57.9 g). YoYoSam describes the brass-ring version as the green “Rival Edition” and the stainless version as the gunmetal grey production colorway with red rings. Designed in the USA and made in China.
