History
Dell Plastics Co. of Brooklyn, New York, known for plastic toy soldiers and flowers, entered the yo-yo market in the early 1960s with the Big D line, packaged in blister cards with a 1961 copyright. Per YoYo Wiki, Dell and Royal were sued by Duncan over the word yo-yo, which appeared on Dell’s packaging but not on the yo-yos; Dell dropped the line rather than litigate. The Sleeper King No. 602 appears in versions stamped with three, four and six stars either side of the D, in translucent colorless and colored plastic. The Museum dates examples 1960-1962.
