History / About
The Pro Tournament was an Elfverson one-piece wooden yo-yo (the lineage of the Kalmartrissan yo-yo) branded for the Canadian market. The Yo-Yo Museum says two versions were sold: the first by National Yo-Yo Limited of Toronto from the 1960s to about 1978 (and Parker Bros. of Concord, Ontario from about 1978), with differences mostly in graphics and gold-leaf stamps. Version 1 reads Original / Pro / Yo-Yo Top / Tournament / Genuine; version 2 reads Original Genuine / Pro / Yo-Yo Top / Tournament / Spinner. It was turned from maple as a single piece. Original retail price was 79 cents Canadian; a one-off 1969 orange color sample was found at the Kalmartrissan factory in Sweden. The YoYo Wiki describes it as a wooden imperial-shaped yo-yo.
