History / About
Goemon is the first looping model officially released under the Turning Center brand, a lathe-machining workshop known for making yo-yos for Turning Point and Japan Technology. It was developed over more than three years and its prototype won the Mods division in 2013. The Delrin body, anodized aluminum side rings and aluminum spacers are all machined, giving a smoother feel than molded plastic. The caps are made of Hakone yosegi-zaiku, traditional marquetry. Parts such as bearing and axle use standards easily available in Japan to ease repair. The name refers to the folk hero Ishikawa Goemon.
