History / About
The L2 succeeded the Hurricane. Because the Hurricane slept briefly, width was reduced to 42.5 mm and more rim weight added. The high-camber body suits horizontal tricks. The hub accepts three accessories: top caps so the yo-yo can be spun like a top, side bearing caps for matador-style tricks like on the AnY MiRoC, and open-shielded bearing caps with grooves for grip. A thickened axle reduces wobble.
It was first named after the initial of Luo’s surname. Thirty prototype Version 0 units were distributed exclusively at the 2006 Asia Pacific Yo-Yo Contest, and in March 2007 fifty final L2s with laser-engraved serial numbers were made available in China. According to the Yo-Yo Wiki, Takuto.Design became defunct after the L2.
