Checkmate is the first signature model of Hideo Ishida, who won the 5A division at the Kyushu contest five years running from 2007 to 2011. yoyomonster. describes its three-step stepped-straight profile as the “Mix Straight” shape. It is designed for the counterweight (5A) style but also suits 1A and 3A. A chessboard-inspired graphic is its visual signature, and it shipped with a Dif-e-Yo concave bearing installed. Purple, pink and light blue bodies have a pearl-skin finish; the Raw silver version sold at the time of the store listing is a mirror-polished “super mirror” version.
