About the Midwest Regional Yo-Yo Championship (MWR) 2026
The Midwest Regional Yo-Yo Championship is one of the National Yo-Yo League’s flagship regional contests, held each spring at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The event traces back to an inaugural 1998 contest, and Dave "Dazzling Dave" Schulte is listed as its organizer and head judge. The 2026 edition ran May 30 on the mall’s Huntington Bank Rotunda center stage, across Beginner’s Luck, Sport, and Championship (1A and X-style) divisions. Hunter Feuerstein won the Championship 1A title, and Josh Kanoff (competing in 4A) topped the Championship X division. As with other NYYL regionals, the top-placing eligible U.S. resident earns an automatic finals seed to the U.S. Nationals, with the next four finishers receiving semifinal seeds.
