About
The Cruiser was SuperYo’s debut product, launched in 1994 alongside the company itself. Designed for school performance demonstrations by founder Arne Dixon, it featured a butterfly/concave profile and fixed brass axle with starburst response. It was priced at $5 USD and came in translucent red with a gold foil stamp; a glow-in-the-dark variant sold for $6.
Two versions exist: the first uses the spelling “yoyo” (no hyphen) and came in translucent red; the second, collected circa 1997, uses the hyphenated “yo-yo” spelling and came in solid purple. Mechanics are identical between versions.
