World YoYo Contest 2014

The 2014 World Yo-Yo Contest marked a historic milestone for the sport as management officially transferred to the newly formed IYYF, and the event was hosted outside the United States for the first time in twenty-two years. Gathering over 1,000 players and fans from more than 30 countries, the contest saw Gentry Stein claim the highly coveted 1A World Champion title. Japanese competitors swept the remaining championship playstyles with victories from Takuma Yamamoto (2A), Hajime Miura (3A), Rei Iwakura (4A), and Takeshi Matsuura (5A), while Tessa Piccillo secured the Women’s 1A title.
