About the Pyro OG
The Pyro OG is a collaboration between At Design Lab and HSpin (Switzerland), released April 17–18, 2026 — Japanese National YoYo Day — to mark the 20th anniversary of the original HSpin Pyro. The original Pyro, designed by Chris K. and released in December 2005, is widely credited as one of the yo-yos that proved full-metal designs could compete at the highest level, changing the trajectory of competition yo-yo design. At Design Lab initiated the project and produced the re-issue “to the exact original drawings designed by Chris.K in 2005.”
The only change from the original is the response system: the original pads are no longer manufactured, so updated ring pads (OD 18mm × ID 13mm) are used. Two axle lengths are provided (M3 × 18mm and 16mm) to replicate both the original narrow gap (slim bearing) and a slightly wider modern gap (standard bearing). Vintage Coating finish across all colorways, all named “Original Color” as a deliberate homage. HSpin is not currently in The Yoyo Archive. $120 USD.
