About the Shutter Wide Angle
The Shutter Wide Angle is Gentry Stein’s competition refinement of the original Shutter. Released after Stein’s 2014 Worlds win, it widens the catch zone from 44.4mm to 48mm at the same 56mm diameter, enabling more ambitious slack and whip tricks. The 6061 aluminum body trims 1.2g from the original (64.3g vs 65.5g) to improve agility. A Size C bearing and CBC 19mm Slim Pads maintain the same response character as the base Shutter. Stein used the Shutter Wide Angle to win the 2019 World Yo-Yo Contest — a second World Championship. Available in 10 colorways including Red w/BiMetal Styling, Aqua, Galaxy 23, Gold Champions, and Orange/Aqua Fade at $54.99.
