About the 888
The 888 is the yo-yo that established YoyoFactory as a premier competition brand. Released in 2007, its compact 50.55mm diameter and undersized profile made it extraordinarily agile for complex string tricks. At the 2007 World Yo-Yo Contest, half the finalists chose to compete with the 888 — an almost unprecedented level of dominance for a single model. Built from 6061 aluminum with a Center Trac Large bearing and 19mm Slim Pad response, the 888 shipped with Hubstack posts built into the design, allowing players to grab the spinning yo-yo mid-trick. The 888 went through numerous production runs: the 2007 “07 art” version, the 2008 “08 art” revision, and various Champions Collection runs.
