Hyper Wasp Folio 1420

About

The Hyper Wasp is a yo-yo manufactured by Playmaxx and released by Bandai in Japan in September 1998 for the first Hyper Yo-Yo lineup. It is the Hyper Yo-Yo adaptation of Playmaxx’s Turbo Bumble Bee — one of the most coveted string-trick yo-yos of the late 1990s. The ball bearing axle enables long sleep times, while the rare cork star brake pad response system gives it unique feedback characteristics. Like the Hyper Loop, the 1998 packaging erroneously labels the manufacturer as “ProYo II.” The tight gap and aggressive response make it better suited for experienced players or collectors. Type 6 polyester string is recommended over original cotton string on vintage examples.
