The Bear vs. Man is Boyd Seth’s signature model and CLYW’s second production yo-yo. Released in 2007, it became a milestone in the hobby: the first widely-distributed splash anodized metal yo-yo, a finish that has since become a staple of premium yo-yo production. The first run numbered only 37 pieces and is among the most collectible in the modern era. The main run, released November 2007, featured the iconic silver/green “Wolverine” splash and established CLYW’s visual identity. An undersized design, lighter and faster than the Peak.
Colorways
First run: Silver/Green Splash (Wolverine). Subsequent runs produced numerous splash colorways including “28 Stories.” Original asking prices for first-run examples frequently exceed $1,000 in collector markets.
