History
The Orbiter was the third Dif-e-Yo aluminum yo-yo, released in 2003 as another 55-unit numbered collector piece. Inspired by the vintage Duncan Satellite series, it featured Frank’s most intricate machining up to that point: two sets of internally-placed O-ring weights, positionable at center or rim position, all enclosed in a nickel-plated finish with laser-engraved text and logo. Frank described it as the most complex design he had undertaken.
Unlike earlier models that used bolt-on pogs or external weight rings, the Orbiter’s O-rings were fully internal — hidden within machined cavities — giving it a cleaner external profile while retaining the adjustable weight architecture Frank had become known for.
