The Pulse debuted at the 2007 World Yo-Yo Contest and represented a step up from the Limelight: it added a ball-bearing axle for longer, smoother spins while retaining the light-up internals. Its LEDs shift through multiple color patterns correlated with spin speed, giving players a visual readout of their yo-yo’s momentum. The 2018 redesign updated the profile, gap-adjusting washers, and friction sticker response while retaining the Size A bearing to keep the Pulse responsive for looping players.
