I heard this thing was coming and was very excited. I liked the OG Adrenaline and sorta always wished I hadn’t skipped on it. Same goes for the NorAdrenaline. It just sorta always worked out that I didn’t have one in my hands. I saw the white-on-white protos and instantly wanted one. Then the colorways got dropped, and I knew I was gonna have one either way. Either one of the most pleasantly contrasted blue pom on silver on orange body, or another Initial D colorway. I was cooked. Sampled one just to make sure I wouldn’t hate the yoyo and instantly scooped the Keisuke colorway (Ryosuke when?) b/c I didn’t hate the yoyo.
I was actually very surprised by the Adrenaline Rush. It feels very, very solid; it has a very forward presence on the string. In practice, this makes it read as a much heavier and slower-feeling yoyo than it actually is, but once you get the Adrenaline moving, it gets FAST. It’s very deceptive. Very powerful, reliable yo-yo otherwise. Can be a bit fatiguing, but nowhere near the level of the Savage, and honestly, I find the Adrenaline Rush to be more appealing than the Savage in general. The Savage is all brute force. It was a rare case back when it came out, but these days, we have options. The Adrenaline Rush is one of those. It does everything the Savage does, but with healthy and proper restraint in some areas. It still has a forward rimweight sensation, but again, it’s not as bad as the Savage. More natural control, more comfort, and more healthy restraint than the Savage. I personally do prefer the Adrenaline Rush to the Savage, and I think the Adrenaline Rush will appeal to more people than the Savage.
So basically, it’s really good. I love the Savage. It’s been my ultra-reliable daily for two years straight. These plastic rim yoyos are super dope, but we’ve seen cases of them being fragile, so, there’s that.
