The Omertà is the first throw I’ve ever played that has any brass in its construction. While not my heaviest throw, it certainly plays the heaviest. Well, besides my fully kitted out Asora. My first True Arc yo-yo, the Omertà, definitely piqued my interest in the company, and I look forward to seeing what they come up with in the future.
So how is it on the string? Like I stated earlier: heavy. At around 66g, the Omertà feels much heavier during play than it really is. With most of that weight coming from the brass rims, the yo-yo is extremely stable, making it able to stay on course and keep spinning longer than I would have expected it to. While you can certainly feel the weight, it never feels unwieldy or out of control. There is a lot of power there, but it’s stable and follows your lead.
The Omertà is all about the string presence, about always knowing where it is and what it’s doing. After a long run of lighter throws, it’s been a hell of a lot of fun playing something a bit less floaty and a bit more forceful.
